Jan Albers is an artists receiving extraordinary attention in Europe and around the world.

Jan Albers’ chromatism is complex. First and foremost, Albers is a sculptor. Building, cutting, slashing, casting and smashing form the basis of his approach to material. In fact, there is an aspect of iconoclasm in his infidelity to the orthodox picture frame but this heresy is held in check by his celebratory use of colour to heal the object. Colour acts as a seductive balm, even if there is a nigh-on toxic acidity to its aura. Fox Jensen & Fox Jensen McCrory will present three works by Albers – a stunning faceted geometric work, a chromatically wild “chainsaw” work and an elegant faceted bronze.
