The MAF Bookshop started with a simple question: why do books at art fairs always feel like they’ve been put in time-out?
Designed in-house, the Bookshop is our chance to pull books out of the corner, literally and conceptually, and give them a space that feels immersive, generous, and alive.
Part retail, part spatial intervention, it’s not a booth and it’s definitely not an add-on. It’s a place to wander, linger, sit, flip, stack, and occasionally lose track of time. Books as objects, books as ideas, books as part of the choreography of the Fair itself.
For Melbourne Art Fair, the Bookshop is another opportunity to stretch its design legs, to test how space, objects and experience can work together, and to keep nudging the dial on what an art fair can feel like.
Located on the fair floor, discover a new read and smell the pages in person, with a curated selection of titles from our partners: the Art Guide Australia Bookstore, VAULT Magazine and Art Ink books, and Perimeter Books.
The Bookshop will be open for the duration of the Fair. Click here for opening hours.
