Join artist Marian Tubbs and Hamish Sawyer, Curator of Linden New Art, for an in-conversation exploring Tubbs’ practice and new body of work.
Marian Tubbs is an artist practicing on Bundjalung and Kabi Kabi Country. Her assemblage-focused practice explores broad research interests across digital and vision technologies, materiality, text and ecology. Tubbs conflates material juxtapositions between body and object, high and low culture, physical and virtual, natural and artificial, to transform the everyday into a space of surreal interrogation.
Hamish Sawyer is Curator of Linden New Art. Having collaborated with Tubbs on several projects, including Marian Tubbs: we need privacy guys here too 2020 at the University of the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery and Coral Futures, 2025 at Linden New Art, Sawyer brings a shared language and deep knowledge of her practice to this conversation, creating space for a focused and insightful dialogue.
