WATCH | Tapestry Artist Tammy Kanat Brings New Bronze Works to Melbourne Art Fair

Tammy Kanat investigates colour, rhythm and balance within her artistic practice. Having begun her career in the arts as a jewellery designer, Tammy repurposes her understanding of harmony, colour and form into wool, silk and yarn. She approaches each work with a sense of curiosity and playfulness; allowing her intuition to guide her through each colour choice and each warp and weft.

Melbourne Art Fair visited Tammy at her Naarm/Melbourne home-studio where she discussed her process, and her work with an exciting new medium that she’ll be bringing to the Fair. Tammy is represented by Gallery Sally Dan-Cuthbert (Gadigal Country/Sydney). Her works will be exhibited alongside works by Donna Marcus and Ivana Taylor.

Melbourne Art Fair takes place 22 – 25 February at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Secure tickets here.
