For four days each February, Melbourne Art Fair transforms the city into a meeting place for the curious and the devoted. Leading galleries and Indigenous-owned art centres converge with collectors, artists, and those simply drawn to the hum of new ideas.
For more than thirty-eight years, Melbourne Art Fair has been a defining fixture on the Australasian cultural calendar, supporting and promoting living artists through the staging of a world-class contemporary art fair.
Presenting works from the region’s most respected artists and galleries, and their newest, most exciting counterparts, the Fair stimulates critical and commercial attention, ensuring that the conversations that begin here continue to resonate long after the lights go out.
In 2026, Melbourne Art Fair debuts the inaugural FUTUREOBJEKT, a collectible design salon and platform for discovery.

Melbourne Art Fair moves to its permanent home at the world-class Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).
Designed by Denton Corker Marshall and known colloquially as ‘Jeff’s Shed’, the state-of-the-art convention venue boasts pillarless exhibition bays with soaring 18 meter high ceilings. The venue is walking distance from 50+ restaurants, cafes and bars and over 25 hotels, including Crown Melbourne hotels, The Langham, Pan Pacific Melbourne and the Novotel South Wharf.
A short walk or taxi ride to the Melbourne Arts Precinct, MCEC has proximity to the state’s leading institutions including Arts Centre Melbourne, NGV International, The University of Melbourne, Buxton Contemporary, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA), Malthouse Theatre, Chunky Move and more.

Getting to the Fair
Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is found on the banks of the iconic Yarra River in South Wharf. A short walk from Melbourne’s central business district and just a 20-minute drive from Melbourne Airport.
CAR
There is ample paid underground parking available, however pre-booking is required to ensure you are guaranteed a spot*.

There is also an abundance of convenient secure car parking available close to MCEC. Nearby options include the South Wharf Retail, Siddeley St, Freeway and Montague Street car parks.
*Please note, Melbourne Art Fair and MCEC do not cover the cost of parking.
TRAM
Hop on any of the below listed trams and get off at the stop opposite the Clarendon Street entrance of Melbourne Convention Centre:
- Route 96 – St Kilda to East Brunswick
- Route 109 – Port Melbourne to Box Hill
- Route 12 – Victoria Gardens to St Kilda
- Alternatively catch tram number 48 or 70 and get off at the Flinders Street stop. Then take a short walk towards the Yarra River, across the Seafarers Bridge. For further tram timetable information and trip planning, visit the Victorian Public Transport website.
TRAIN
Catch any train that goes to Southern Cross Station. Get off at Southern Cross Station and take tram number 96, 109 or 112 as above. For further train timetable information and trip planning, visit the Victorian Public Transport website.
BUS
The SkyBus transports visitors directly from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross train station.
Bus route 238 operates to and from Southern Cross Station to Convention Place between the hours of 10.00am and 3.00pm, Monday to Friday. The coach pick up/drop off point is in ‘Bay 1’, Convention Centre Place (closest to DFO South Wharf). RIDESHARE
There is a drop off point right for rideshare vehicles outside the Convention Centre entrance, opposite Pan Pacific.
ACCESSIBILITY
Accessible toilets, ramps, and lifts are available throughout MCEC.
The closest entrance to the Fair with wheelchair access is at Door 1. There is accessible parking at the Exhibition Centre Basement Car Park with lift access up to Door 1, 6 and 10.
