Founded in Singapore in 2010, Ames Yavuz emerged from a vision to champion the transformative voices emerging from Asia’s contemporary art scene. The region’s artistic innovations and critical dialogues remained underrepresented on the global stage. Over fifteen years, the gallery has evolved into an internationally recognised
platform representing over forty artists and estates. Their practices span continents and disciplines, from painting and
sculpture to moving image, installation, and photography.

In 2019, expansion to Sydney marked a pivotal moment for the gallery. Ames Yavuz became the first Asian gallery to establish a permanent presence in Australia, deepening its commitment to fostering genuine cultural exchange between Asia-Pacific artists and the dynamic contemporary art ecosystems of the West. The 2025 opening of the Mayfair location in London further anchored the gallery’s global presence. Positioned at the intersection of three major capitals, Ames Yavuz solidified its role as a bridge between Asia-Pacific voices and international discourse.

Central to the gallery’s programme is a commitment to long-term artist development and cross-cultural exchange. Rigorous curatorial practices form the foundation of all programming. Long-term collaborative relationships with artists are cultivated and sustained over many years, often spanning a decade or more. This generates intellectual rigor and meaningful dialogue around art’s role in society’s most pressing conversation.
