Centre for Contemporary Photography

Naarm/Melbourne

Established in 1986, the Centre for Contemporary Photography (CCP) has developed into one of Australia’s leading organisations dedicated to contemporary photography and lens-based practice. Over four decades, CCP has supported Australian and international artists through exhibitions, commissions, education, publishing, public programs and professional development, while providing an important platform for emerging artists and new approaches to photography.

For more than 20 years (until 2024), CCP operated from its Fitzroy premises on George Street, establishing a distinctive reputation for ambitious contemporary photography exhibitions and for supporting artists at different stages of their careers. Its program has consistently combined established and emerging practitioners with a strong commitment to experimentation, education and public engagement.
