Gallerysmith

Naarm/Melbourne

Founded in Melbourne in 2008, Gallerysmith is a leading commercial gallery with a sharp focus on intellectually engaged practices by established, mid-career and emerging artists. For almost two decades, Gallerysmith has built a reputation for thoughtful curatorial programming, rigorous artist representation and a highly personalised approach to developing long-term relationships with collectors, designers, architects and institutions.

In 2024, Gallerysmith opened its purpose-designed gallery in Prahran, Melbourne, creating a substantial new home for its exhibition program, artists and collectors. The gallery’s spacious environment, private viewing lounge and extensive on-site stockroom allows Gallerysmith to offer both ambitious solo and group exhibitions alongside intimate events for private and corporate collections.

Gallerysmith’s program reflects a particular interest in raising the profile of historically marginalised artists, with a strong commitment to supporting women artists and Australian Indigenous practices alongside significant contemporary voices. Gallerysmith’s artists have achieved significant recognition through grants, commissions, prizes, residencies and institutional projects. Recent highlights include Christopher Pease’s Terra Nullius, a major survey exhibition presented at John Curtin Gallery and artist representation in the Biennale of Sydney.
