Thomas Maxam is a Naarm/Melbourne-based design studio driven by an inquisitive exploration of material, creating furniture, lighting, homewares, and objects that balance functionality with playful experimentation. Characterised by a tongue-in-cheek approach to design, the studio embraces creativity without restraint, producing distinctive works that challenge convention while remaining highly considered in form and execution. Its collection is stocked internationally and has been recognised through numerous exhibitions and awards, including the VIVID Design Awards, where Candelabra 0001 received Best Object Design in 2019. Through a multidisciplinary practice, Thomas Maxam continues to contribute a fresh and inventive perspective to contemporary Australian design.
